Profibus Communication alarming

lesko Posts: 76 Rating: (1)	Hello, I am trying to program, that if I lose Profibus connection, I get an alarm. My system is composed of 315-2 PN/DP, panel KTP400 and SMC pneumatic island. All is connected via Profibus. I am programing in TIA V13. I tried to do that with OB82. But there is a problem, because it is trigered just when the alarm state is already gone. But I would like to do that when the alarm state is present the AlarmBit is on, when the alarm state is gone the AlarmBit is off. I tried to do that by putting #OB82_EV_CLASS to B#16#39, but it doesn't help. I have tried to change OB82 settings in Hardware configuration under "Asinchronous error interrupts", but I can't change them because all is grey and is protected against changing. Can someone please tell me what to do that I will be able to set the AlarmBit in the desired time. Thanks in advance Best regards Lesko

Thanks in advance Best regards Lesko Hello lesko, Normally data that are available in error OBs should be read and compared to references.When OB82 is called, you need to check #OB82_EV_CLASS to inform you if it happens or passed.You can do it by a simple comparison plus extra information regarding module base address (OB82_MDL_ADDR ).In this case, you set or reset bits for any relavent event. // A demo A( L #OB82_EV_CLASS L B#16#39 ==I ) S M 10.0 // an interrupt happened // rest of codes to find the place of error A( L #OB82_EV_CLASS L B#16#38 ==I ) R M 10.0 // the interrupt passed For missing a Slave over PROFIBUS subnet, I suggest using OB86 , reading LB11 for the address and also "OB86_EV_CLASS " for the case that it happened or passed. Thanks in advance Best regards Lesko Hello lesko, for a very simple approach, you could send a clock (in most cases 1 s will be ok) as a toggle bit to your KTP400 and there compare if on-state or off-state exceeds half clock time (assuming 1s clock check for greater than 500ms). If time is exceeded, communication is lost and you can immediately show alarm. regards

I got another wish from the customer to alarm if the OP is not communicting with PLC. For that I will use eisenpferdreiter's advice. Thank for all the help. Best regards Lesko
