As from V13 SP1, it be done once a day. TIP: This feature could be activated / deactivated in Options, Settings, General, Software Updates, “check for updates daily. Rinat 98 Posts: 11 Rating: (7)	Hello Pegaia, I made a service request for TIA updater via proxy access in May 2014, the answer was that the updater "server is fixed at the following address: https://www.siemens.com/industry/TIAPortalUpdates“ The following is their full answer (2014-05-22) : "This is issue has been escalated further by HQ in Germany to the development team. HQ has another reported issue similar to what you are experiencing. The workaround at this point is to connect directly via the Web eliminating the company proxy. I will inform you of any updates that I receive related to this issue. Please ensure that the pc, your profile (domain login) and page are registered in the company proxy configurations. We cannot advise of specific proxy settings. We do not have anything more specific to advise at this point. Again, the development team is looking into this issue. It could be some time before any updates are available." Regards, Rinat

Rinat 98 Posts: 11 Rating: (7)	Hello Pegaia, The link (https://www.siemens.com/industry/TIAPortalUpdates) is accessible from PC browsers, generally browsers can access Internet via company proxy. The proxy is configured in ControlPanels - Internet Options - Connection Tab - LAN settings (win 7). Opening the link in a browser loads XML file with latest released versions. Somewhat helpful but overall useless.

Try to check with yourTI colleagues, if something could be donein your PC orin your TI network. Maybe you could build a VPN to theupdate link, maybe you could setsome "general proxy setting" or something likethat (http://support.automation.siemens.com/BR/view/en/70892408) Else, therealways the alternative tosearch and install updates manually.

I am with the same trouble and i cannot find a reasonable solution. I did manual download to the latest update (9) and installed it. I was thinking that the trouble could be solved but nothing change. TIA updater continue to show "unable to connect to the server" message.
