manafi Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a serious problem with PCS7 V6.1 for project modification during operation. The system has CPU417-4H and after adding a new "Process Tag" in the PH, just complete download is possible! Sotheprocess should be stopped for each modification because of CPUs stop. Thanks Shahriar

How do you avoid stopping an AS when the S7 program is being downloaded?

Instructions:
The AS always has to be stopped when an AS program is being downloaded completely.

Warning!

Generally speaking, the user has to confirm that he wishes to stop the AS in order to perform a complete download. When all the objects in a multi-project are downloaded in their entirety via the SIMATIC Manager, a specific dialog box does not appear asking the user to confirm the requisite AS stop. In this case, the AS is stopped automatically and then restarted.
Take note of the circumstances which lead to the loss of the ability to download changes online because this requires a complete download, coupled with having to stop the AS.

You can find information about "AS downloads" and avoiding stops by clicking "Help" in the "S7 Download" dialog box. This calls up the help for the "S7 Download" dialog box.

The AS may also have to be stopped in order to download changes to an AS program. This may be due to reasons such as temporary inconsistencies which cannot be checked by the person downloading them. Here are some of the reasons for having to stop an AS after downloading changes:

1	Max. cycle time exceeded (overload) In releases prior to PCS 7 V7.0 the S7-CPU stops if the current user program requires too much computing time. From PCS 7 V7.0 the function block "CPU_RT" is automatically installed in the AS program by the module driver wizard. In addition to providing CPU performance data, this block also reduces the cyclic load by going into emergency operation mode, whereby OBs which place a heavy load on the cycle are suppressed temporarily. This prevents a CPU having to be stopped during overload. Notes: You can find information about the cycle monitoring time in Entry ID 2847489. You can find information about the "CPU_RT" function block in the Online Help for the block. The "CPU_RT" function block is located in the "PCS 7 Library V70". In order to open the Online Help for the "CPU_RT" block, select the block in the library and then press "F1".
2	Local data range exceeded If blocks do not possess a block reference list, the downloader is unable to check the local data requirement. If the local data range is exceeded, an AS may go into stop mode. You can find information about this topic in Entry ID 10350835 - How do you identify blocks without block-reference data? Entry ID 8897007 - How do you generate the block-reference list? Entry ID 2718726 - How do you determine the local data requirement of the CPU?
3	Programming/Access errors If the program which has been changed and downloaded contains programming or access errors (e.g. access to a block which has not been downloaded), the controller goes into stop mode if error OB121 or OB122 are not downloaded. Notes: If the module driver wizard is used, the OB121 and OB122 are always generated during compilation and transferred into the AS during downloading. Therefore, the error OBs should always be downloaded, which would ordinarily prevent a stop occurring as a result of programming/access errors. In order to prevent a user program with programming errors being downloaded into a CPU of a plant which is in operation, you can download the program into a test CPU and test it there.
