vvsr Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	We want tohave Dual redundancy Ethernet in Terminal Busfor OS clients. For this we plan t usecards Intel Pro1000MT and Pro1000GT in a team mode. I would request if any one has experience of using these two cards inn Simatic IL43 PC's used as OS client.

jspino Posts: 37 Rating: (2)	Hello, The Siemens part number for the PCS 7 Redundant Termianl Bus Adapter Package is 6ES7 652-0XX01-1XF0. Please note that should disable the on-board network card when the above kit is used. Plus make sure you use the driver that comes on the PCS 7 Toolset DVD. If you are looking at the V7.0 SP1 DVD, they can be found at x:\Additional_Products\Drivers\NETWORK\Intel

That is, management of two networks with single IP address and master/standbyetc. etc.This may be possible with other brands as well but only Intel cards have been tested, released and approved for use with PCS7. Pieter Booysen Posts: 10 Rating: (1)	WinCC can not work with dual Ethernet out of the box. Teaming network cards does not work. For instance: if your network switch port to your server still works but the connection from the switch to your clients is broken then your system will NOT switch over because the teaming software is still running happily. This MUST BE HANDLED INSIDE THE SERVER. You need to write an application to perform this task that is omitted inside WinCC: verify you can see all the clients and OPC devices, if fail, switch network cards, but keep the IP address. On Clients: verify you can see server, then switch network cards. Teaming network cards is equivalent to pulling the wool over your clients eyes. They think it works but it is not working. The solution above can run as service, does not have high network overheads and can be implemented on any network cards, including the onboard network card.
