Step5 WinXP produces PC crash down

moe Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello everybody I'm new in this forum. Well, my problem is: I have a laptop HP Compaq NC6230 with windows XP Proffessional Service pack 2. I can execute Step5 and works fine, but if i change to online status,after several minutes the PC crashes down. The screen is blue and indicates several things. I think most important is "MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS". I have upgrade from Step5 V7.21 to V7.23 and it happens the same. I have tried to install Hotfix1 but an error message appears about Example... So, anybody can help me? Thanks in advance

Late Platinum Member Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 5/11/2025 Posts: 2705 Rating: (321)	Hi Moe, It seems that the same interrupts are used for several equipment, you could find that in the System Properties and then the Hardware --> Device Manager --> View --> Resources by type --> Interrupt Request(IRQ) Good luck to find the Interrupt that is double...

moe Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi. Let me explain my problem again My laptop has one serial port and several USB. But another people in the factory hasn't got serial port. So they need the USB-Serial port converter. That's why i have tested the two devices. When i connect with serial port and go online the pc crashes down and the blue screen indicates BAD_POOL_CALLER(c2) Irepeat with the USB-232 converter and the blue screen says MULTIPLE_IRQ_COMPLETE_REQUESTS. I was looking in internet about that problem but is a little bit complicated. I don't remember where but i saw a Step5 connection using COM X Sonder. I have tried and it works fine. Do you know the diferences? Thanks again

Simaticus Posts: 262 Rating: (24)	Hi moe, as far as i know Siemens is working on that problem. The problem seems to be the localization of the s5 drivers and software an different cpus. If you switch your pc to single processor op mode Step5 should work again. Good luck
