New CUR card in rectifier not working

yaseen Posts: 21 Rating: (4)	Dear Friends I have a strange problem. I have a rectifier unit 6SE7090-0XX85-1DA0. Recently we had some problem on it and we intend to change CUR board. We had a brand new CUR board. I installed this board and noticed that the PMU does not come on. So i can not check the parameters nor change them. The rectifier also does not come on as the parameters are not configured properly. Then i decided to use the EEPROM from old CUR board and put this in this new CUR board. When i did so, the PMU came up and i was able to configure all parameters although i was excepting that by changing EEPROM i will not have to change parameters, but i had to. Just today, we recieved one more new CUR board with EEPROM. The situation with this new board is also same, so the possibilty 2 boards coming from Siemens being bad. Now my worry is, do i have to depend on this old EEPROM to be used on all my new CUR boards? Following are the details on the old EEPROM V98113, A1680- , A101-48 and that on the new EEPROM is V98113, A1680- , A1-4.8 I suppose both these EEPROMS are V4.8. Is there any version uncompatibility between CUR and A23 board? That my thought. Your advice on this will highly be appriciated. Regards.

I hope you are talking of the DIP ic which is mounted on the socket on the CUR board. If ithis is right then i would like to inform you this is a EPROM and not EEPROM.This has the firmware of the card and not the customers parameters. The customers parameters are stored ina EEPROM. This is the reason you will have to parameterise the CUR when replaced even after putting the old EPROM. Also i would like to inform that there is no problem of compatibility between the A23 card and the CUR board. Also for your information i would like to tell you that you can also get only the software EPROM from siemens. The SIEMENS part no. for the same is 6SW1701-0DA14.

I am still unable to understnd why the new CUR board with correct EPROM on it does not work. I can do further checks provided the PMU comes up. But the issue is the PMU also does not comes up. But when i use my old EPROM on this new card the PMU comes up. You can think of anything on it? Regards.

May be by some error a incorrect EPROM is supplied with the card. But 2 cards having same problem is also surprising. Also for testing the eprom you will require a EPROM programming or reading device. If it is blank you will seeFF value aat all the address locations. diwa.
