WinCC V6.2 SP2 and Windows XP SP3

Because that list will tell you that SP3 is not supported for WinCC. So this will cause the problems for sure. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21927773 The best thing to do is reinstall your system with XP SP2. THis is better then just deinstalling SP3.

But no solution, since in new computers and automatic updates of the XP is installed SP3.

If you try to deinstall SP3 then you will get an other error during wincc installation. So, installation: 1. Install a windows XP SP2 from original CD *2. Do not turn on automatic update at the end of XP installation* 3. Install the MS office if you need 4. Install the Step7 if you need 4. Install the MS SQL server 2005 5. Install the WinCC (it will automatically install the required security patches) 6. Now you can turn on automatic updates or start manual update By Wánya
