asecawy Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	good morning Can anyone help me to setup and configure pid temperature controller using FB58??!! my application is to control a solenoid valve on a steam line 'by controlling steam flow i get temp controlled' i want to knowhow to assign process variable, set point, output,...any other variables.... how can i know that my configuration is right? simply can i simulat the function using software or even hardware before practical installations at customer?!!!! the manual of this function is very confusing TO ME as a new user. please anyone help me to achieve this project. attached is a declaration of my trial best regards, asecawy Attachment fb58.JPG (2827 Downloads)

Set the variableCYCLE with the same value that you gave for the OB. 2 - Use the tool PID control parameter assignet to configure your PID (START/SIMATIC/STEP7) 3- Be carreful to not change the data types: times (TI, TD, etc.) has data type TIME and not REAL

asecawy Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	dear Pegaia i configured the FB58 as follows first i configured a function FC4 in which i used FB58 i called FC4 from the OB35 cycle is 0.1s and also in the parameters of FB58 1- assign set point (REAL) at SP_INT 2- assign process variable (from my sensor on analog input port) PIW 3 to PV_PER (INT) 3- assigned PVPER_ON to TRUE. 4- assigned variable on LMN (REAL MD60) "see attached .jpg" is that true? when i vary the process variable (sensor), i have no change on LMN it is always 0?Why when i have assigned variable to PV (REAL MD44) it changes with sensor ? what is the differences between *PV, PV_IN,PV_PER*? excuse me if my questions are silly!!! thank you. asecawy Attachment untitled.JPG (1787 Downloads)

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	Right directions - just a couple steps more^) Your regulator is working in manual mode - you should switch it to automatic (MAN_ON), Ensure, that you have setallinternalparameterscorrectly-LMNlimits,LMN_P,I,Dandsoon. PV_IN is initial value for PV. PV_PER allows to connect PIW directly asprocessvariable. ButyouhavetosetPVPER_ON andPER_MODE properly. By the way PIW3 is not good - it lies in process partiotion area (are you sure you want to do this?) and i guess address must be even(in 95%cases) :^)

You can use this tool, when you have FB41 or FB42. Just open DB58 and go to View and select Parameter assignment view. Change the parameters and 'Download Parameter Setting Data' When you change View to Data view, you can see actual values Best regards, Wizard
