mach390 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a CPU317-2 as a master with a CP343-1 for communications. Most of the slaves are CP342 5DA02 0XE0 with a weigh modual and a C7-613. Last week one of my CP 342-5 would not go into run, but I have got it into run since. When this happened I got a bus fault on 3 of the slaves. There is not a problem with the cableing and they all worked before. I have tried downlaoding my hardware configuration again, but the module's are still not available. In the Status it says module configured, but not available and that there is a mismatch. I have not change any of the hardware or configuration so I am wondering how there is a mismatch? Any ideas? Thank you.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Mach390, are you sure that the diagnostics says that the modules are configured but not available? If the Modules can not be seen by the DP Master there are not many causes possible besides a wiring problem. Is it possible that an additional node has been added somewhere on the bus? Has anything been changed in or close by the system? Here we can just guess, because we are not at the bus. Best regards J_Bell

However, while trying to get the CP into run mode my local distributor suggested to try switching SD cards out of the C7-613, but it only made both slavesunable to communicate. This is the only thing that has been changed and every other time it has been a wire issue, but I am sure that this is not the case this time. Thank you for the response.

LLL Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	since you mention there is other CP card , why not you exchange one and see the result. If you had confirmed everthing is fine and nothing been change, then I thing this is a good way to tried.

mach390 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Yes I have all but one disconnected, and I also have a new piece of cabling run across the floor from the last good slave to the first bad slave to rule out a wireing issue. I could try switching CP cards with a good slave, but it would seem odd that I lost 3 CP almost at once.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear mach390, do you already use the PROFBUS Connectors with the switch in resistor? These Connectors disconnect the secondary PROFIBUS line. That way you can extend your PROFIBUS line one by one. This would be one way to extend your Network and check the availability of each node. mach390 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Yes that i sthe connector that I am using, but the resistors are in the correct possition. I have tried other cables and ends, but they still will not come on line. I am sure that it is not in a cable or end, I have even tried changing the CP 342-5 but as soon as I put one that I know is working onto the C7-613, I still get the bus fault.

However,I can not connect directly to the slaves untill I get my USB to PC adapter in the morning. Hopefully I can start getting some results then because I am running out of ideas, resources, and time. Thank you again for the post.
