how to create second confirmation for value input in runtime

SonicAddict Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	Hi everyone, I'd like to set up a second confirmation for value input in runtime. Before a new value that is input into an input field is transferred into the linked variable, a message box should pop up that allows confirmation or cancellation of that input. Is there an option available in WinCC allowing that? Right now we've set up the I/O field that the input value is transferred by pressing Enter. My idea was the following: On value change a VB script is activated, saving the new value into a intermediate variable, opening a message box and, depending on the return value of the box, transferring the value on to the linked variable, or doing nothing. Right now I'm still working on that first part of the script. What do you think of this method, and maybe is there a much easier one?? Tanks very much! Sebastian

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	I also think this is the easiest way. If you have lot of such fields and you are VB savy, you can create an active-x compnent with this feature in VB that can be used in WinCC.

I searched for the pcs7elements.pdl on our PC and on the net, but I only found the path it should be at (Siemens\WinCC\Options\PDL\FaceplateDesigner), but this folder is empty. Do I have to install some additional modules like FaceplateDesigner to get hold of this .pdl file? Sebastian

I'll try to see if a component was missed during installing, but is the .pdl I need included in WinCC 6.2.0.1? I understand it's a library of readymade objects for WinCC, including an I/O box allowing a second confirmation after value input. Thanks, Sebastian
