zgrdic Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello, In our new project with HMI TP177A panel I have some unsolvable problem. Please, can you helpme with next problem: I have experience with several types of HMI Siemens Simatic panels: TP177micro, TP170B color, TP170A, but I don't have any experience wit HMI TP177A. Iintended to set panel communication with Simatic PLC S7-300 with CPU314. ButI have a problems with transferring a project from our PC to HMI. From the beginning of our communication with HMI I didn't manage to transfer any project from configuring computer. After switching the HMI power on, I went trough the boot phase, then loader apears, then transfer window occurred (message 'Connecting with host …') . In the moment of starting project to transfer from WinCC following messages alternate on HMI: 'Connected to Host.' 'File 1 of 2' (progress bar appears) 'File 2 of 2' (it seems that progress bar didn't change) then HMI freezes with message 'File 2 of 2' and WinCC interupts transfer with message 'A timeout error occurred while receiving the files.' Otherwise WinCC software works fine (I check it with other HMI devices), communication adapter works fine too (I check it with another HMI and with ProSave and got result as I describe below). I tried to transfer project with several Transfer Settings in WinCC: Mode - serial Port - COM 1 or COM 2 Baud Rate - any of these: 19 200, 38 400, 57 600, 115 200 (I correctly changed the transmission rate on commun. adapter, of course), but always with the same result: after message 'File 1 of 2' (which lasts cca 1 sec.) transfer breakdown occurs with messages: HMI: 'File 2 of 2' WinCC: 'A timeout error occurred while receiving the files.' Itried with different DIP switch settings on HMI, but it didn't help. I have these devices/software included: 1. PC with CPU Intel Celeron 2.8 GHz, 1GB of RAM, 60GB HDD (20 GB free space), 2 COM ports & USB, with: - OS Windows XP Professional with SP2, IE ver. 6.0 - SIMATIC WinCC flexible Compact 2005 - ver. 1.1 - correctly installed floating licence for WinCC flex. Compact 2. HMI Siemens Simatic Touch Panel TP177A (6''), order number 6AV6 642-0AA11-0AXA (S C TDL 43261) purchased in January 2006. - these are data obtained with communication between HMI and ProSave V7.2: Panel: TP 177A 6'' Bootloader: 1.6 (2005-05-04) Flash: 4 MB RAM: 16 MB Downloading successful. Data from Control Panel/OP of HMI panel are: OP properties - Device: Device: TP 177A Flashsize: 4MB Bootloader: 1.6 Bootl. Rel.Date: 2005-05-04 Image: 01.00.00.01_05.52 - Transfer Settings from Control Panel/Transfer of HMI are: Channel 1: - Serial: Channel is enabled - Password Properties from Control Panel/Password is: no password 3. Communication adapter RS485-RS232, order number: 6ES7 901-3CB30-0XA0 from Siemens as described (on page 4-15) in manual: Operating Instructions TP 177A, TP 177B, OP 177B (WinCC flexible), Release 07/2005, 6AV6691-1DG01-0AB1 It seems for a few seconds that transferring will be succesfull but always falls. WinCC gives a message mentioned above, and HMI remains in Transfer window with a message: 'File 2 of 2.' What's the reason of such behavior of device? Best regards, ZGrdic

zgrdic Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello nemo, I tried different ways of communication, MPI too - didn't work. Cable work's fine, but I already check it with another one - same result. No I don't have another TP177A panel, but everything works fine with TP177micro and TP170Bcolor. How to do a reset? I'm not sure what you mean. zgrdic

zgrdic Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi Nemo. sorry for not answering soon. I solve my problem. The problem was in panel image version. The panel was delivered with a wrong image. I had to make an image update. I found it strange because in same delievery with panel was the cable and the software for panel. Didn't expect to make something like that. It seems veryunfairfrom Siemens. However, now problem is solved. The wrong image was 01.00.00.01_52.52 and the correct image was 01.00.00.02_05.58. Thanks for your advice.
