Multiple connections at a time - Open Modbus TCP Driver 2XV9450-1MB00

memet Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hello all, We have been using multiple CP-341's and modbus licenses for connecting peripheral devices (asRTU master) and DCS systems (as RTU slave) in our projects so far. In my current project, I need 1 Master and 3 Slave connection. My question is: If I buythe Modbus TCP license and one CP-343 Lean, one 5-Channel Ethernet Hub, Four Ethernet-to-RS485 Converters; Will I be able to have 3 Slave and1 Master connections? Can this driver operate in both modes on the same CP ata time,over a hub to different IP addresses? Also when using this driver, Is it possible to use the same ethernet CP for connection to an HMI terminal? Another question is, once I buy this software andinstall the associated FB etc on my PG, can I use it on another CP-343? Do I need to buy the driver again for each project? Any help appreciated, thanks in advance. Memet

Your second question: Yes, it's possible to use the same CP for modbus communication and for other communications (HMI etc.). You have to buy 1 license for each CPU. You can use CP341, converters, CP343-1 and OpenModbusTCP and the telegram transfer will work. A hint: OpenModbusTCP supports function codes 3,4 and 16 (write/read Holding Register and read Input Register). Wüstenräuber
