Can you start PLCSim on another computer?

Jaapie Gold Member Joined: 1/17/2006 Last visit: 12/1/2025 Posts: 802 Rating: (63)	Hi All, I have seen this question in this forum: Is it possibele to run a PLCSimV5.4 on a different computer and connect it to a WinCCV6.2? In the mean time I did some investigation and learned that it is not (standard) possible. But it would be nice if some of you could share some ideas. I have the following idea: Two pc's with both wincc-server and plcsim on it. these pc's can connect to there own PLCSim. Then I want to connect a third PC (with WinCC-client on it) to these servers. I tried this idea, but it is not working....strange. It should be working, or is PLCSim blocking something? Another idea is to create a TCP/IP blackbox and communicate through this box. This is working (for now only reading information), but I do not think I can use an ALARM_8P with this solution. Anyone? Thanks in advance, Jaap

Client WinCC does not connect with the PLC(Sim) anyway, all the tags are received from WinCC server. Please provide more details. Dec

I have problem now at work as I am trying these days just to archieve this: Computer 1: Computer 2: WinCC <----> Step 7 Server with PLCSim I am not allowed to install Step 7 in Computer 1, so simulating the Scada is now a problem. What about comunication¿? Is this posible or i am just wasting time¿? Some of you have tried something like this before¿? Does it works¿? Any help is useful. Thanks in advance. Best regards.
