Error during Starter V4.1.2 Installation

gidds Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I've got problem when install Starter V4.1.2 on my laptop. During installation the attached alarm appears several time. I press OK and installation gone through, and finish at the end. But I could not execute the Starter. The same behaviour appears when I install Simotion Scout V4.1.1.6. FYI, my laptop operating system is Windows XP Profesional Version 2002 Service Pack 3. Plase anybody help me. Thanks. Attachment Error.jpg (1077 Downloads)

Mathieuduff Posts: 2 Rating: (1)	Hi, We do that on our demo pc and we encounter some problem with others program after uninstalling the sp3. Do you have an other solution to remove the error without uninstall sp3. Thanks a lot

For the moment Siemens don't has medicine for there software considering SP3 of Windows. Only two decision - uninstalling SP3, or maybe better way - use virtual mashine (example Vmware) and install there Windows SP2 and all Siemens software. Of course some of softwares with "magic" (put SP3 in search field), some of us have success with installation, but nobady can garantee that software will works properly, and if there has problem to call to Siemens support to ask help! regards

Goran_ Posts: 141 Rating: (0)	I am experiencing the same problem, XP pro sp3, the problem is related to SmartHeap library. There was a resolution for XP sp2 to uncheck support for Asian lamguages, but MS corrected this with sp3, so I do not know what could be the problem now. I do not have any other applications installed but clean XP with drivers and experiencing this error.

Most of the links point to the resolution on Microsoft site, to turn off support for East Asisan languages, which is turned off by default. Anyone here has an advice? Do people from Siemens support come to this forum, maybe they have some advice, I dont believe I am the only one with this problem?

Have you installed Step7 before STARTER or the OEM Step7 which was delievered with Starter? Is there any AntiVir Software on the system or firewall or so? Regards Christoph
