File Save Dialog Box Issue - VB Script

micklars Posts: 4 Rating: (1)	I set up a button that calls a “file save” dialog box and allows the user to enter a file name, then saves the file. The problem is that when the dialog box opens, the title on the popup window is in German (“Allgemeiner Fehler bei indirekter adressierung”). I use a VBScript to call this, but as far as I can tell, there is no way to change the title on that box. I have a similar button that lets the user select a file to open. The title on this dialog box is in English ("Open File"). Obviously this doesn’t affect how the program works, it would just be nice for our customer to have it come up in English. Here is the part of the script where I call the file save dialog box: Set myvar = CreateObject("SAFRCFileDlg.FileSave") myvar.FileType = "Recipe File" myvar.FileName = HMIRuntime.Tags("RecipeSelected").Read myvar.OpenFileSaveDlg Does anyone know if there is a way to change the title text for this dialog box?

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Hi micklars, It also happens in WinCC V6.0... Looks like a an old VBS in WinCC implementation problem. Either that or it is picking up the default caption. The German message itself means "General errorduring indirect addressing". The funny thing is, if you try to overwrite an existing file (using your script), the overwrite dialog box also displays the same caption. Have you explored how to change the caption? BTW, the FileOpen also displays a strange caption for me (contrary to what you stated in your post) "PDL Runtime : Bild ist schon angewählt". Let me know if you find something. Regards

micklars Posts: 4 Rating: (1)	You're right, I hadn't noticed the caption on the file overwrite box. It's funny that the text inside the box is in English, though. Anyway, this is how I call the file open dialog box: Set ObjFSO = CreateObject("UserAccounts.CommonDialog") ObjFSO.Filter = "Recipe Files\|.csv\|Text Documents\|.txt\|All Files\|." ObjFSO.FilterIndex = 1 ObjFSO.InitialDir = "c:\" ObjFSO.Owner = "WinCC-Runtime - " IntResult = ObjFSO.ShowOpen Calling it this way, the caption is just "Open". It's starting to look like the easy fix that I was looking for doesn't exist. I'm still open to any suggestions, though. Thanks.

micklars Posts: 4 Rating: (1)	I did find a way to change the title, it's not the prettiest way to do it, but it works. The script that calls the file save dialog box it triggered but the user left-clicking on a button. I set up another script to run when the left button is released. This is a "C-script" that looks for a window with that specific German title, and changes the title to say whatever I want it to say. Like this: HWND Handle = NULL; Handle = FindWindow(NULL, "Allgemeiner Fehler bei indirekter Adressierung"); if(Handle) { SetWindowText(Handle, "Whatever I want"); ShowWindow(Handle, SW_SHOWNORMAL); SetWindowPos (Handle, HWND_TOPMOST, 400, 200, 520, 420, 0); } I also added the last two lines to make the window come up on top and centered. I had been having trouble with it coming up behind the runtime window and up in the corner, so I fixed that at the same time. Thanks for you help.
