OS lost in SIMATIC MANAGER

cesar.loayza Advanced Member Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 1/30/2025 Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	I have been workingin a STEP7 5.4 / WINCC 7.0 multiproject without problems. Butsincea few days ago,suddenlyI can not see the OS of my multiproject or anyOSfrom the Simatic Manager (Error 3). However, I can open the OSusing Windows Explorer (Error 4). I tried to create a new simple HMI project in Simatic Manager but the system does not allow me to insert an HMI Application in my PC Station.(Error 1.jpg and Error 2.jpg) I retrievedmy multiproject in another station and it worked okay. So, I clean my station and installed STEP7 and WINCC again but no success, I am still having the same problem. I have seen similar threads in the forum but no answers to solvethis problem. Could you give me an idea to solve this problem? I have attached some screenshots to illustrate what is happening with my station. Attachment error 1.zip (203 Downloads)

Titas Posts: 94 Rating: (15)	Dear CesarL, I also faced the same type of problem. It could be the virus affected in your PC. You just uninstall the AS OS engineering station software from control panel and reinstall that. I think it will solve ur purpose. Titas

Anyway, I will try to unistall only the AS-OS Engineering and install it again to see if there is any difference. Thanks.... What about the experts? As I mentioned before therehas not been answers from them to the previous similar problems.

For example in the following thread one of the users claims that the problem was due to SQL installation: PCS7 OS project cannot be created or is not displayed. In my personal experience I noticed this problem when I tried to open a PCS7 V6.1 project in PCS7 V7.0 without migrating the WinCC. Hence, it's very difficult to provide an accurate diagnosis for your particularproblem, especially remotely... Regards

I am not using PCS7 only STEP7 5.4 and WINCC 7.0 integrated in Simatic Manager. As I mentioned before my station was working perfectly for almost 3 months. So, I guess the installation was OKAY (SQL,WINCC,STEP7). Now, I dont know what has happened. Iam trying to check if there is something corrupted in myPC. Thanks,

Anyway, I think it was related with the database (SQL) because nothing happened when I reinstalled STEP7 and WINCC. Suggestion: Have a image of your system as soon as you have everything working properly to avoid loosing time in this kind of situations. Regards,
