Reid123 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello All, Firstly, if this has already been covered, could you please post a link?? I ran a search and couldn't find much. I replaced an exisiting analog input module with a new module with more channels. I set up the hardware config correctly, ensuring the correct order number was inserted in the right slot number, the starting PIW address was identical and that the exisiting channels were configured to the right mode. The old card had a module in the side of it which you could rotate to select modes (set on B for +/-10V operation). The existing input, in the new cardreturns a value of 32768, which as I understand is writing an error. The voltage across the analog signal is 21.5VDC (which I think is out of range), but I'm not certain if this should make the card write 32768 to the PIW. My question is, do I have to scale the new module by the use of FC 105? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

uel123 Gold Member Joined: 1/29/2006 Last visit: 12/16/2025 Posts: 451 Rating: (65)	Hi, Reid123! - 21.5V is definitly too much for range +-10V. - according to "S7-300 Automation system Module data", the value 32768 (=0x8000) in read -out of analogue input means "Underflow". I propose, you proceed as follows: 1. Find mentioned manual ("S7-300 Automation system module data", A5E00105505-05) and check connections and data representation for both of your analogue modules: the old one and the new one. There might be a difference in connection pins for both modules. 2. Check connection of your sensor, which gives you such "big" voltage (21.5V???). Is it really a Voltage output sensor? This measured voltage across analog input "smells" like, you have a 2-wire (or a 4 wire) current ouput sensor connected on Voltage input AD converter! have fun! uel123

Also in the Hardware configuration. Click on the module and check that the correct Analog channels types has been selected.
