MP277 very slow response, worse immediately after boot

The projecthas 175 powertags, 26 screens. The touch screen is very slow to respond to keypresses, particularly immediately after boot-up (where it takes up to 10 seconds). The problem seemed to get worse yesterdayafter I had to 'upgrade' the screen from 1.1.0.0 to 1.1.1.0 due to upgrading from wincc flex 2007 std to wincc flex 2008 HF3. I had previously experienced this slow response, but only noticable immediately after boot, so it was not an issue for users. But now even after 5 minutes of running, it typically takes 1-2 seconds to respond to each key touch. What causes this, and what should I look at to address it ? thanks

rmeert Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I have exaclty the same issue. I have a MP277 10' Touch that was configured with Wincc2005, I've since upgraded to Wincc2008. On 2 different HMI I've made changes and I've been prompted to update the OS on the Panel, once I do this the panel is very slow with responce to button presses. I've looked at tag update times, went through the panel and ethernet settings and can't find a reason or fix. I have more changes to make on other panels in the shop but have been putting them off because I don't want to mess anymore Panels, Please Help....

I have 3 tags on "cycle continuous" acquisition(5s update) although now that I look I found 1 of these is a repeat anyway :) I have about 53 tags on acquisition "on change". In my mind this should not be a big task, even for a slow CE system. But I could find no way to configure a 'deadband' to ignore noise, so maybe many ofthese are updating more often than needed. Is there some way to configure a deadbanddefining the"on change" condition ?

At some of my sites after a download you have to wait for the thing to start then after about a min try to log in. If you try to log in before, it simply doesnt work or loggs you back out when its back up to speed. As for going slow, i though that this was the normal performance of the Siemens Touch range? I have used many 10" Touch pannels and theyall operate in a similar manner. One customer is currently complaining about the speed / performance so would like to know if you can sped them up at all. I know in the control pannel > Settings of the screen theres like a memory slider and if you slide it towards the left, it should increase program memory but I have done this many times and seen no improvement!?!?!? Does this make a difference to other peoples machines? I am on WinCC Flex 2007 HF4

rmeert Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	No, my problem isn't solved either. I swear that mine is linked to the new OS or something to do with the conversion of the project from 2005 to 2008. I have 5 MP277's on one of my assembly lines and all were running great. I've downloaded changes to 2 of them, needed to update the OS and the project was converted with my new software and now these 2 are experiencing slow response to a point of you about placing your finger through the screen. Any ideas??? I'm going to try the old software and relaod the old project.

They reported the screen had frozen a couple of times and needed to cycle power to get it going again. I downloaded some minor changes to the hmi, and while I was there the response seemed fine. So I don't know what has changed, the problem is intermittent, so I wouldn't trust its 'fixed' (especially since I did nothing to 'fix' it).

The prefomanceis little bit better, if you will use the segmental circular log method. Do you use MPI, PROFIBUS oran Ethernet connection to the PLC?Anotherreasoncould be a low baud rate! Bye
