Ex.: DINT = L# 1234 = TIME = 1,234 seconds. If you have a DINT simbolic varible and would like to "convert" it to TIME simbolic variable, just move the values: L "myDINTvalue" // md0 T "myTIMEvalue" // md4 To convert REAL to DINT, you can use ROUND, CELL, FLOOR etc instructions.

krix Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Dear Pupi i have tried the real to time converstion it worked for me try this. convert to Real to Dint using Trunc then move Dint to Timer :-- this timer value will be in miliseconds if you want the value in seconds multiply real value with 1000 then do the converstion part If you want the value in Minutes the Multiply the real value with 60000 then do the conversion part i hope this will help you..

Hannumation Posts: 29 Rating: (2)	Maybe nothing new, but I have little trick to REAL to TIME conversion. If you write the time values from the HMI and cannot use TIME / S5TIME data type, then you need the REAL to TIME conversion. But the scale is limited because normally you cannot use decimals. With little modification, you can get scale from 10ms to 2h46min (S5TIME). You only have to multiply the input value (real) with 1000, before you convert it to DINT. This way decimals in input value are counted in. And then in the end of the subroutine, just divide it by 1000. And when the input value goes over 2000, I disable the multiplying by 1000 in subroutine, because DINT maximum value is 2147483647. Now if you input real values in HMI, you get: 0.01 = 10ms 0.1 = 100ms 1 = 1s 1000 = 16 min 40s and so on... S5TIME is limited to 2h 46 min, but with the IEC time you can go higher values. This is very useful with controllers. Now I can get time scale from 10ms to many days. 0.01 (real) = 10ms (IEC) 400000 (real) = 4d15h6min40s (IEC) etc...
