Hello Guys,

I am in a pretty unfortunate situation, hope you guys can help me out.

I have configured a S7-400H system with ethernet and profibus cp cards on both the racks. Ethernet is used to link up with WinCC and also HMI (MP377). I can get everything online and working but the client is not happy with this configuration and wants to put the HMIs on profibus. I doubt that it can be done because of 244 bytes limitation of the Y-link. Is there any other solution to this problem that I am missing? Kindly help me out with this.

For Extra info: Reason behind all this is "The client says that if the ethernet ring network (that connects the PLC to wincc fails the HMI will also be lost) he wants to control the plant using MP3377 incase WinCC server is lost. Else I can put another ethernet CP card and connect the HMI to the PLC directly without any switch.

One more thing... Can i use the other 15 pin connector on the CP card as my second ethernet port? Can I??? Can I please ???
