sun1232 Posts: 13 Rating: (1)	hi all i havesimaticindustrialethernet cable,has only 2 pairs white / orange{seperate cables } and white / blue {seperate cables } can anybody share me , the wiring connections at pin side , and also i have to use them in hub to hub connection, how could i do crossover for this cable which has only 2 pairs thanks in advance sun

The normal fo rethernet is pin 1` to pin 1 pin 2 to pin 2 pin 3 to pin 3 pin6 to pin pin 6 And for cross over cable pin 1 to pin 3 pin 2 to pin 6 pin 3 to pin 1 pin 6 to pin 2 one other thing i should mentions the twisted pairs are 1 and 3 the second pair are 2and 6

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, A hub works in half-duplex mode. If you think to use the CPU together with decentralized IO (Profinet IO), a hub will not be OK. For Profinet IO, You need a switch 100 Mbps in Full-duplex mode.

sun1232 Posts: 13 Rating: (1)	hello edr , my cpu already connected to scalance switch , from there i need to lay ethernetcable to another ETHERNET switch, {due to change in philosphy of customer , after installtion done and commissioning going on } i guess straight cable is required when one switch to another switch ?? thanks in advance sun

When you connect a device to a switch (or a hub), you never need to use a crossed cable. You should use straight cable! A crossed cable is used to interconnect two end-devices without hub or switch. As fas as I know CP-243-1 does not recognize straight/crossed cables and work with switch only using straight cables. All other S7 ethernet CP has recognition of cables. Also this site is the best about ethernet wiring http://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/ethernetcables.html
