However I find one thing which is missing here, on Rockwell website there is an option of Chat window. And which is really very much convenient for Rockwell Engineers as they can chat with more than 1 person at a time, and good for users as we get someone right then to get our issue notified. However I am wondering if Siemens Support could come up with this idea of having caht window and where people can chat with the experts or Siemens REP, it would promote more users for using products as solution will be immediate. This is just a suggestion, I hope if people find it usefule, then request to moderator. Thanks Lalit

But will this chatting be archived here in the forum. So, the others can see these conversations. One of the biggest benifit here that you ask a question. some body answer you. Another one tell you another answer. Third one may add something important. Some other members read all of this thread and learn somethings from it. But if these chatting windows become private, I think we will lose more. Some times, I recieve question in PMs! It's ok and very nice to ask. But why won't you make it public. May be somebody else will need to ask the same question or need my answer. In these cases. I copy the PM and create a new thread here. To conclude, If the chatting window will be archived here, I am agree with if it will make the communication easier. But If not. I am not agree. I hope the other experts and members to tell us their opinion here and also Mr. Moderator. Regards,

Exept reasons which Ayman wrote, I also can say, idea of this forum is all "key" which help to solve some problem, to be valid after that. Like archive. And if someone has the same problem to look for this key. Word "chat" for me is "connected" with cars, girls... Best regards Hristo Mihalev

I agree with Ayman, Umencho on most of the points, however I am sure if we will seek suggestions, then there might be lot of different good ideas will come up. so let's hope what people at this forum like to have. as there is always a scope for improvement. Thanks to both of you.

If the chat resultshould have a good quality then it would mean some of the experts from each conferenceshould be still online and prepared to answer thequestions. The point with the archiving is also very important. So as summary, don't think this would be helpful in here. Another thing is that you compare the different things.On the Rockwell web the chat is for direct support, just another version of thehot-line (in fact the same but not through the phone but on theweb site), it means similar as Support Request on this web, but the forum is something else and they have also the forum on their site, but here it's little bit bigger (regarding to number of conferences and users). One is facing some problem and other is having solution then in that case would not it be nice, if they can help each other through chat option. I mean most of the time I am sure maintenance guys will not be using this option, but for the beginners who have experience other PLC's very well, may like to have some one guide something immediately.

In addition, the Forums tool allows for much more structured dialog than the Chat Room tool.
