Let me try to explain: You can create function blocks or data block as symbolic or non-symbolic. In case of a DB the only different is, that in a non-symbolic DB you have the possibility to access with absolute adresses like DB1.DBX0.0 or DB1.DBD4 and so on. It's important for WinCC flex. There you have to enter absolute adresses. You have no access on a symbolic DB with WinCC flex. Anyway, in a non-symbolic DB you can also enter symbolic names and you can also have access to the symbolic name in programming. But pay attention to, that you have no possibility to use data type of LREAL in a non-symbolic DB or FB. I hope its clear now. regards
