Without Display, S7-1200 is the first SIMATIC PLC that there is no RUN / STOP key (except the LOGO! without Display). I see, here in the forum, many comparisons with S7-200 / S7-300 but until now no one about the RUN / STOP key. What they think about it?

(Unfortunately I haven’t got 1200 yet in my hand). Well I think there should be a run/stop switch. I mean there are advantages and disadvantages of having a key switch. The main advantage is if you done some thin wrong you can make PLC stop immediately with out cutting power or stop from the software. And main disadvantage is unauthorized activation of switch (if the switch is a key switch like good old s7 300 it won’t be a problem). Also as Tomy Master mentioned the TREM mode is also missing. So my personal feeling is it is better to have a run/stop switch than no run/stop switch. (This is my idea only may be siemens having better ideas with out run/stop switch) Best regards.

J. Marianini Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	In my experience Run/Stop key is quite useful and I'd like to have it in the S7-1200. To stop the PLC without any other external device like switch or laptop could be a must in some applications.

Iam new here, i have bought S1200 startspack with KTP-400 display, with extra cpu 1214c. I am installing it in my new house. beste regards Spiky1214c
