Then choose "device configuration" in Step 7 Basic. Search in properties the HSC which is supports your digital input and active them. Then parametrize them and try to get a value in PLC. You have access to the value in HSC about the HW indentifier (e.g. ID1000). good luck

Control means, you can change e.g. actual value of Highspeedcounter or set a new reference value. To read the HSC you have to use the IO address that is given for your configurated HSC in hardware. Mostly it is ID1000. YOu can use ID1000 at any place in your project like a MD. HSC is datatype DInt. You find the IO address in your device configuration --> properties --> HSC --> IO addresses --> input adresses. regards
