CPU 319 Not Responding, all LED are on constantly

JSMTek Posts: 50 Rating: (2)	Greetings Experts. We have a new 319 CPU which is not responding at all, it was tested and working properly a while ago. Now all LEDs are on constantly, except 5V. We cannot communicate with the CPU either with ethernet or MPI/DP cable. When doing MReset, nothing happens, no flashing LED etc. Any suggestions?

If it doesn't work then most likely the CPU is defective. Normally a defective state is represented by flashing of all LEDs but for me, the absence of 5VDC will mean a defective hardware. I hope someone here would have more to say but I think you should contact your local Siemens office. Best regards. H-H

Jazz_M Posts: 1121 Rating: (86)	Hi Check the Power Supply, Connector if you have connected with IO cards, Remove the CPU and Check for any external object in the port hole. Switch off the power supply and check with another power supply as said by others, Even then the same condition exisit then change cpu.

Copy it to MMC as instructed. & download that firmware update to CPU. surely you will get yout problem solved.

RKM Posts: 93 Rating: (13)	Based on my previous experience I can say that in case of all LEDs are blinking then there is a chance of firmware update to solve a problem.Update can be done by either PG/PC of MMC card. And in case of all lights are constantly on then there is mejority chances to have a faulty CPU. In this case more then hardware I think a problem of processor or electronics problem as it does not provide any means of diagnostics.
