sus Experienced Member Joined: 6/12/2009 Last visit: 8/1/2025 Posts: 75 Rating: (0)	Hi to All, i have 3 MM440 18.5KW Drive.i face the problem of over voltage in these drives.i set the P1300-1 and P1121-350,P210-460 what is the reason for over voltage.The distance bet. drive and motor is 400m aprox.I used LC filter in panel also. Thanx in advance....

You can control some what by playing some parameters but its better you use breaking resistor so that you will have permanent solution for this Problem Regards, Devesh Vithani

It depends up on the load. How much your load is and how much its inertia. I am explaining. Assume your inertia of the load is high such that it will take 4-5 min to stop by its inertia. Now you are using drive and set Ramp down time to 100 sec. Then load will try to pull the motor in such case, in other words, you can say that motor will be in regeneration mode. Now at this time, due to inverter, dc link voltage of drive will increase. It will give trip to drive. To avoid this, we use breaking resistor connected by chopper. MM 440 has inbuilt chopper so you can connect resistor directly to drive. It will discharge dc link through this resistor according to duty set in parameter. Your other inverters are running because they might not have such high inertia load. I hope this is clear to you. Best regards, Devesh Vithani

Your qn is correct as per your side. When Rating will change, its inertia will also change. I think this may involve mechanical guys to work if you wanna find exact calculation regardsing this.
