Hello, alink from theWizard's post seems to be lost so here is the one which could help you: How should you connect unused channels of analog input blocks? Sometimes (especially with some types of flowmeters) it doesn't help and then you have to use some galvanic isolated transducer. Regards Sydney |

Hello Keon, Beside the valuable contributions of both Wizard and Sydney, I would like to highlight one more thing, The ground(reference) of all 4-wire transducers/transmitters should be connected to the module reference (Mana). When you have some 4-wire transducers that take their supply as 220 VAC like most of magnetic flow meters and even if it's supplied with 24VDC that has different reference, the generated voltage across the analog terminals is floating without absolute zero reference (Earth) and in this case they are called ungrounded instruments. Then it's very common to have voltage difference between channels'M-and module reference Mana. You can investigate itby measuring voltage or byenabling the module diagnostic in HW configuration. Then you can have a module ground fault or common-mode errorentry in online module diagnostics. To overcome such problem, All 4-wire transducers should have the same ZERO reference (i.e. all M- are connected to Mana which is connected to clean earth) in order not to violate the maximum allowable voltage difference betweenchannel M-and Mana which is 2.5 VDC for the 7KF02.
