611u sign of life

chad Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I am fighting a sign of life alarm on my whithney 3400xp. It has an 840di with simodrive 611u. I am getting alarms 25201 drive fault, 26102 y singl of llfe of drive 2 missing, 380500 profibus dp fault %1=y %2=597%3=1. The odd part is this only occurs when Hypertherm plasma torch is lighting or cutting. Hypertherm suggested adding ferrite chokes to the work lead to machine and on machine grounding source. I am only having this problem on y and v axis and noticed that x axis parameter p879.0 is set to 1 but y and v are set to 0. Should either y/v or x be changed so they are the same? And is this due to the fact that y and v must sync for punching applications? thanks for any help as i am very familar with the A2100 but not the 840di.

I think the communication is being lost between drives and the master causing the internal clock to differ which gives an alarm at the master. I can monitor the sign of life incoming and out going with simocom u bits stw2 and zsw2 bits 12 through 15 and appear on the drive end to be working properly. I have not seen harmonics bother profibus on other machines and its so intermitent not sure how to catch the problem. Also i changed parameter 879.0,1,2 to 1 to allow more interuptions with out alarm and this caused me to start getting controll alarm for each axis but again the simodrive shows no alarm and is in run state.

Hi.... Check your Profibus connector and shielding properly. If this is not proper you may get the abnormal errors....
