Vinny Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	Hello Siemens friends, I am trying to send data between two CPU 315-DP (315-2AF02-0AB0) via CP 342-5 (6GK7-342-5DA02-0XE0) on both ends. When I try to set up a master-slave connection the CP 342-5 doesn't like to be a slave. It comes up with the following error: ''Message 13:4344 The DP slave has to contain at least a sub module'' in NetPro Has anyone come across this before please? I was able to communicate between CP (master) to DP port (slave). But when I try to set up a master-slave between CPs, it complains. I think, the CP I am using doesn't like to be a slave. Can anyone confirm this please. What are the other options for communication between two S7-300 (315-2 DP) with CP 342-5 on both ends? Thanks

But are you doing all the things in the right way/order? I think these FAQ's will be very helpfull for you. DP link of CP 342-5 (slave and master) with STEP 7 V5.1 Notes on linking a CP342-5 as DP slave to a DP master with STEP 7 DP link between CPU 315-2 DP (slave) and CP 342-5 (master) with STEP 7 V5.1

I wanted just to mention about error which you receieved. When you ""attach profibus slave after into slave you should add at least one module there. See attachment. Vinny Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	Thanks INS. The first web link helped and I found what was wrong. I hadn't inserted the universal modules into my CP and thats why it kept saying ''Insert sub modules''. I have got ahead of the situation. I might get stuck later. See you then. Cheers.
