schreyer Posts: 65 Rating: (3)	Hi All, Is it possible to add a alarm filter which filters onTagnames? Example: Each set have a similar msg layout as shown below TagnameMessages pm1234.alarm PM-1234 warning, alarm. pm1234.failure PM-1234alert, failure. pm1234.trip PM-1234high alert,tripped. pm5678.alarm PM-5678 warning, alarm. pm5678.failure PM-5678alert, failure. pm5678.trip PM-5678high alert,tripped. So when i click on button to show events that happened for pm1234, it will filter allthe messages to show only pm1234 messages with the timestamps. How do i do this?? Regards Schreyer

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	You can dynamically set the filter on an alarm control using the MsgFilterSQL property. So assuming your alarm text is stored in the "Message Text" Block ( Message Block 1 ) you would write the following string to the MsgFilterSQL property using a Direct Connection : TEXT1 LIKE '1234' If you need to further filter on two parts of the message text then just use the AND keyword : TEXT1 LIKE '1234' AND TEXT1 LIKE 'alarm' Is this what you wanted ?

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Hi Schreyer Nope, this looks like a classic situation for writing a script. I would do exactly the same as you have done. [soapbox] Scripts are not necessary evil. It is only when they are used to do every little thing that a problem appears. My basicbelief with WinCC is -why use bespoke code when a function is already provided. When there is no built-in functionality then turn to scripts, not start off with them. [/soapbox [:D]]
