Gosal Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi, I currently have a project setup in WinCC 2008 SP1. I'm looking to default to a particular screen after a period of inactivity of say 30 seconds. Is this possible? Any help would be great.

Sandman Platinum Member Joined: 4/29/2010 Last visit: 1/20/2025 Posts: 1557 Rating: (161)	The problem in this case is that it isn`t possible to evalute in Flexible if the panel is inactive or not. The screensaver just checks if the touchscreen is used or not.

Gosal Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Sandman, Maybe I have been unclear in my explanation. What I want to do is if the touch screen has not been touched for a set period of time then the screen will default to a chosen screen. The screen saver sounds like the solution. How do I set that up?

But I dont know if it is possible to change the saverscreen - picture. Perhaps it is possible with a BMP - File upload, but I never have done it. Next possibility is, to change the screen via PLC. But the problem is, as Sandman already said, that you dont really know, if the panel is in use or not. Screensaver: system settings somewhere -> Screensaver.

rlyean Posts: 31 Rating: (2)	As far as i know there is no System Function to monitor if the screen is active or not i dont know if there is a way by script...but i have project before which is almost the same situation what you are asking.... In WinCCFlex, make a tag and in the event properties,used ActivateScreenByNumber and put this tag in the screen number. And then configure your data pointer under Connection for the Screen Number put a reference address..... In your PLC, monitor the actual screen number put to a temporary address and used a timer let say 10 sec, then compare it to the actual screen number if equal load the screen number of the screen you want to be default...if there is a changes in the actual screen number(e.g. screen navigation) before 10 secs just jump to no operation and reset your timer... The problem here is that the timer will keep running when there is no change in screen and reset in the other way around.This means if there is touch in your MP within a screen the timer will continue to count and set your default screen. You can further improve this by monitoring all the tags you used but not recommended..I hope in the next SP of flex they will include a bit to monitor if the screen is active or not.. I hope it helps...and waiting for better suggestion in your post...
