You are trying to implement

1) Move WEIGHT[0..499] to WEIGHT[1..500].

yes, BLKMOV can be used. But thinks your algo can be impoved in such manner:

Instead moving all records and adding record to the beginning try following -

make 1 variable "Index", represnting last filled record. Then your algo would look like

----------------------

Index := (Index + 1) MOD 500;

BLKMOV(SRCBLK := DB11, DSTBLK := DB10.Record[Index]);

-----------------------

Of course this is not a programm, but i think you understood this algo :^)

No problem - i've done something exactly like this couple of times. As an example you can implement 2 buffers - 500 msgs and 25 msgs. On adding messages you add messages to both buffers with same mechanism.

If you want to move this "25msgs window" - you should perform another thing - move 25 messages beginning with (Buffer_Index+Window_index) ending with (Buffer_Index+Window_index + 25). Here you would have only 1 difficulty - as you have MOD 500 you should take care IF you window begins with 495 for example and end with 20 - but this can be overcomed - for example (not really optimized:^)
