umair Posts: 81 Rating: (1)	Dear Expert, we are now making communication between S5 card CP 5430 and WinCC 7.0 through CP1613A2 or PCI,bsically WinCC 7.0 is relacing COROS v4.0 HMI .Do we need any other software for making communication between CP5430 and CP 1613 or please what software are required and llicence.

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, The CP5430 is a Profibus card. The CP1613 is an Ethernet interface. It is not possible to interconenct them directly (two different bus systems). In the PC you need for Profibus a CP5613 (or 5611 if you have only few PLCs) Let us assume you use a CP5613 in the PC: The channel "SIMATIC S5 Profibus FDL" is used for communication between WinCC Station and a SIMATIC S5 automation system. The PROFIBUS (Process Field Bus) network type and protocol FDL (Field Data Link) are used in this case.

umair Posts: 81 Rating: (1)	Dear Expert, SINEC H1 Cards (CP 5430) are communication cards installed in the PLC rack for communication with COROS. At the PC end CP 1413 cards are installed. That is my system topology I wanted to ask yo that SINEC H1 card CP 5430 is a ehternet card or profibus and what about this CP1413 which is installed in the PCI slot of HMI station

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, SINEC H1 is the Siemens branding for an Ethernet 10base5 network. The CP5430 is not an Ethernet/SINEC H1 card but a Profibus card. A CP1413 is an Ethernet/SinecH1 card for a PC As told before, a CP5430 cannot communicate directly with a CP1413. The sinec H1 card for a PLC can be: - a CP535 (oldest one ever) - a CP143 - a CP1430-TF

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, You have to configure a connection between S5-CP und PC For the S5-CP: - CP535 requires the configuration software COM535 - CP143requires the configuration software COM143 - CP1430 requires the configuration software NCM1430-TF
