Hello YoonA, The ET200M (IM153-2) can and can not be connected downstream of a Y-Link. I think you have come across this manual in which you will see that a Y-Link is nothing but couple of IM153-2 (High Feature)and a coupler. This means that a Y-Link is like any other slavebeing limited to 244 I/O bytes. The main job of the Y-Link is to connect one sided DP slaves (Slaves with one port or in other words slaves that do not support redundancy) to the S7-400H. Such DP slaves can be Drives, softstarters, power meters or any other DP slave that doesn't support bus redundancy. Just with one condition that the sum of all I/O bytes of all slavesis not exceeding the 244 I/O bytes. The ET200M is used for high dense I/O which means that a single rack can have 12 modules. Imagine you have 2 racks with 10 analog input modules (8 channels). This means that each rack will have 8X2X10 = 160 bytes. Now the 2 racks will give you a total of 320 input bytes which means that you will need 2 Y-Links. Definitely this is not an economical solution because the total cost will be higher than couple of red. bundles. It will be 6 IM153-2 with 2 couplers instead of having 4 IM153-2. One other thing is thatyou will lose important diagnostics and features when you put ET200M downstream of a Y-Link. Siemens says it's not possible to have ET200M under a Y-Link which is an ET200M as well. You can't drag an IM153-2 from hardware catalog underneath a Y-Link. However, there's a trick that Siemens does not support which is dragging an IM153-2 from a DPV0 GSD file. It works in HW configuration and I believe it will work in reality but I will never do it because it doesn't add any value to my systems. If you don't have much I/Os in your system then maybe a Y-Link with couple of ET200S racks will be a good solution. Best regards. H-H |

Hello YoonA, You can get a DPV0 GSD file for IM153-2 from this link and you can also use the IM153-2 from your hardware catalog under DPV0 slaves under PROFIBUS DP. However this is not going to work because you will not find CP340 and CP341 in module list of DPV0 GSD file. The trick will not help. You have to use separate red. bundle for the serial CP. Just one small note, I see that everything is controlled by S7-300 and nothing in this drawing depends on the H-CPU. Best regards. H-H |

Hello YoonA, I believe that you must put the CP 340 with a red. bundle. It can't be configured under Y-Link. Regarding your system configuration, it just makes no sense to me. Now, the Y-Coupler will be serving only the S7-300. Be careful again because the data frame between the 400H and the S7-300 will be limited to 244 I/Obytes. If you need to exchange more data then you can throw the Y-Link away and get an Ethernet CP for the S7-300 and build an Ethernetconnection between the S7-400H and the S7-300. Best regards. H-H |
