Reagrds, Yes I totally support BilalD as the Named Connection is made through Hardwre Settings of CP 1613 etc. to connect with two nos. CP Modules of CPU. The Named Connection is Physical but the PLCSim does not read the Physical CP Cards

You have not read the post clearly Named Connection is for WinCC Connection Redundancy which is achieved through SIEMENS CPs These are Physical Hardware Cards for PC Application. Since you can't access CPs through PLCSim, so your Named Connection won't work in WinCC

KayBee Posts: 241 Rating: (7)	There is no possibility to connect Tags under Named connection with PLCSIM.One way to do is to move the tags from Named connection to MPI. This can by done by: 1. Open WinCC Project 2.Open SQL Server Management Studio 2005, my case 3.Connect. 4.Then Open Database as attached-"Table1" 5.Then Exchange the channelnumber value as arrow marked in in the 2nd pic.CHUNITNUMBER 6. Now check Tag are exchanged between MPI & Named connection. There may be difficulty doing with Structured tag, but may be some way should be there. This is just a way, not professional way to do. (and have the correct setup there as described in the manual for using "named connections") Then the correct method, to go online via PLC-sim, is via "Start OS simulation". Right-click on your WinCC-object in simatic-manager. Select "Start OS simulation". Nothing else! /perD

Ghassan O. Saber Posts: 49 Rating: (10)	Hi, There're certain reasons why you CAN'T use named connections with PLC-SIM. Nevertheless, you can cut and paste the tags into another type connections (unless you have an integrated WinCC project with Simatic Manager). You can use my answer on the splitted thread to configure the connection to PLC-SIM /tf/WW/en/Posts/110838 BR. Ghassan
