jackr Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Hi, Does anybody know of a easy way to import tag (I/O table, DB components) into WinCC 6.0? We have a application that is setup for an Allen-Bradley processor and would now like to integrate a second Siemens processor. Since we are an OEM and need to implement whatever PLC version the customer requires, we need a stand-alone WinCC application, so we cannot make use of the "Totally Integrated" options that would normally be used in thiscase. jackr Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Hi Nemo, Yes, I tried those tools first. Unfortunately, the Import/Export functions wants as CSV type file as the input and I've been unable to find a way to get the DB's in Step 7 saved off in that format. Any ideas? Thanks. jack

The second shows how to import datablock items into WinCC Flexible. Not exactly what you want as you are using WinCC and not WinCC Flexible but I mention it for two reasons : 1) There seems to sophisticated way to export a datablock ! 2) Maybe you could adapt the Excel sheet to work with a WinCC format ? Sorry I cannot come up with a better answer. Possibly worth checking in the S7 forum to see if there is an easy way to export a datablock to a text file.

jackr Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	It looks like we're on the right track. I downloaded the Excel spreadsheet included with your second link. By copying the data in the DB (cut and paste) into one of the worksheets, it produces a bunch of columns in another worksheet. One of these is the address. While the format is slightly incorrect, I'm going to try to modify the macro. This column along with the symbol columncan then be copied into the Configuration Tool (which basically links Excel and WinCC). This ends up being a three step process, but it sure beats have to retype every DB entry. (Now if I can remember VBA programming....) THANKS. jack

Reuben Posts: 70 Rating: (14)	Hi Why don't you create a dummy WinCC project in SIMATIC Manager and generate all your WinCC tags with AS/OS compile, then export the generated tags with Tag Export/Import or the Excel tool, and then import these tags back to your "standalone" WinCC project. Reuben
