trini Posts: 19 Rating: (8)	Hi all, I need to show a list of text values from which the user has to select one. The values to be shown in the list have nothing to do with any tag, arevalues from a external database. I thought I could use the Smart Object 'Text List', but as far as Iknow it works linked to tags. Could anyone give me any idea on how to face this? Thanks, Trini.

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	The Smart Object -> Text List does not have to get it's data from tags. It just uses a tag to read the selected value from the list. However it's main limitation is that you cannot dynamically change the values in the list [:(] If you need to dynamically change the text list values then you can use the any ActiveX listbox. I have used the MS Forms 2.0 Listbox successfully in the past. I think you may need Microsoft Office installed to get this control but I could be mistaken.

[:)]

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Exactly as you say. Just remember that the combobox and listbox are not native to WinCC. These are Microsoft ActiveX controls which you can use in WinCC.
