I wanna know when DP Slave has a failure - OB86

maartendel Posts: 8 Rating: (2)	Hi, I have 20 dp slaves. When the connection with the dp slave is bad, or broken, i want to set a bit, if everything is good, i want to reset the bit. If been searching, found a difficult way and an easy way. Easy way is the use of OB86. When an error occurs, OB86 is called and with the temperary data i can know which dp-slave has an error. When the error is gone, OB86 is called again with other temperary data. This goes fine right now. But, worst-case scenario. When the CPU gets a powerbreak, and restarts (with an dp slave error offcours) hes not calling OB86. So, on startup my solution doesn't work. Can someone help me please. Is OB86 reliable? What's the easiest way to find out the connection with a dp-slave is good? Thanks in advance. Maarten

hdhosseini Diamond Member Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 12/24/2025 Posts: 6885 Rating: (1368)	Hi The easiest way to know which DPslave is faulty is to save LB11 to a memory address like: [code]L LB11 T MB0 //slave address[/code] For all slaves in your project , create a bit to show the slave failure.When the error is comming , the bit corresponds to that slave should be set otherwise reset the bit. Using SFC51 is straight forward and give you the bit you want.check the attachment for more detail. use szl id= 16#292 and index=16#1 for this application. Check the data record for result of check. Hello , One method is to create a "STRUCT" in for example "TEMP" area in a function.This structure should meet the data structure as described in DR(attachment).I may update a snapshot for all explained here if it is not clear. automation_1 Posts: 133 Rating: (2)	Thank you very kind 2 more questions -when there is a fault in the first slave, bit DB16.DBX4.7 is TRUE, when fault goes bit goes to FALSE, correct? -first slave mean the smaller profibus address? or what?
