How to protect a Project on OP77B?

R. Georgii Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello All! I would like to know how can I protect a project in an OP77B to be uploaded. I did a project, downloaded and would like to nobody could upload it. Do I have to put a password on the WinnCC Flexible or direct in the HMI? Thanks in advance again! Rodolfo Georgii

Georgii unless you have downloaded the WinCC flex application with the "backtransfer" Option enabled I wouldn't worry too much about"protecting" the OP from an upload. Without the "backtransfer" Option enabled you (or your customer) will only be able to uploadthe compiled runtime file which is help- and useful to restore a panel in case it needs replacement, but can NOT be used to makeany changes to it (you can NOT open it with WinCC flexible) and you can find out more about this HERE. Any other restrictions to acccess the OP77B's OS and settings can be made from theWindows CE Control Panel (see chapter 6.2.3.5 of the OP77B manual). I hope this helps.

R. Georgii Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello fritz, First, thanks for all the information. So, as you said, I didn't do the download to the HMI with backtransfer enabled. Do the project itself nobody will modify. Cool. And in the second paragraph you told about the chapter 6.2.3.5 of the manual... If I put a password there I disable the upload of the archieve to be used on others HMI's? That's really what I need for now.. I won't be able to try this password this week because I am not with the device with me, so if you could tell me if it is really what I am thinking of is... Thanks in advance, Rodolfo Georgii
