jaromir Posts: 139 Rating: (18)	Hello, can somebody to help me or give me recommendation. I have computer IPC 847C with internal card CP1616 and standard Ethernet card. I use the WinCC V7 SP2 and I want to communicate with three S7-400 which support Industrial Ethernet and also Profinet. The question is: Which communication is better for communication with 3 station of S7-400, Ethernet or Profinet? If I will use the Ethernet, which adapter is better to use, standart card or CP1616? If I will use the Profinet, do somebody have some example how to configure card a and WinCC? Thank you very much for your answer. Best regards Jaromir

efka Posts: 799 Rating: (43)	Dear jaromir, for a normal communication from WinCC to your AS it should be irrelevant if you are using a standard ethernet card or if you are using the cp1616 card. You have to note, that some configurations are only possible with a cp card (red connect for example) best regards

Take a look at one old discission concerning almost the same issue - RackPC with Profinet onboard and wincc . Hope this helps. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev
