Tks for your method, Im tried to it but I can't. My PC used window 7. I don't know whether my pc need special setting to use this function.

Hi,

I need a bit of help in setting up my network connection. I have two machines on 810D controllers with PCU20. Both these machines were working on ethernet earlier, but are not doing so now.

We stopped using the ethernet a few years ago when the PC communicating with the machines stopped working (we had only one machine then, so it was not much of a concern. The second machine was purchased used recently, and the previous owner was using it on the network. However, the previous owner is not aware of how this was set up and had used the help of Siemens service personnel to set up the network).

I am keen on setting up the network again, and am facing issued doing so. I have followed the instructions on ETHERNET_CONNETIONS_PROCEDURE.PDF, but i have not been successful at setting up the connection. The host computer is using Windows XP.

Logical Drives: 

1. C:\ - > CFCARD (working OK)

2.\\192.168.0.15\VMC -> LAN (folder shared on windows XP pc is named VMC)

Network Configuration

HMI boot: With Network without Confirmation

Log: TCP/IP

DHCP: NO

IP ADDRESS: 192.168.0.100

SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0

GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1 (Also tried 0.0.0.0)

DNS: 192.168.0.1 (Also tried 0.0.0.0)

DNS DOMAIN: WORKGROUP

MONIT TIME : 30 SEC

CMPT NAME: JYOTHI (ALSO TRIED BLANK, AS WELL AS WINDOWS XP COMPUTER NAME)

USER: PCU20

PASSWORD SUNRISE

SERVER NAMES:

192.168.0.100 JYOTHI

192.168.0.15 PCU20

FILE TYPES:

(I selected the option which added all the file types possible)

I have made a username PCU20 on the host, with password as SUNRISE(same as what i have set on the PCU20 side in the Network Config window). i have also installed the NETBUI protocal, enabled simple file sharing. My other computers on the network as able to detect this windows xp based computer.

The Windows XP computer and the machine are connected to the same router using straight cables, and I am able to ping the 810D IP address using CMD ->PING 192.168.0.100.

Please let me know what I am missing/ doing wrong here.

I figured it out, you need to have the system password set in "System" mode, not Manufacturer mode, then you are able to reach those softkeys.

Not sure howto give the normal user access to those softkeys tho, its a matter of access rights.
