cajac Posts: 35 Rating: (4)	How can one get the Tag Name that is used in the dynamic dialog of a property of an object? I can set the tag using the CreateDynamic method. But I want to read it first so I can use it as a default value. Here is how I write a tag: [code]Set objDynDialog = onjObject.Properties("FlashBackColor").CreateDynamic(hmiDynamicCreationTypeDynamicDialog, "'Tag_XYZ123'") [/code] set the tag to 'Tag_XYZ123'. How can I read the value that is there (if there is one)? thanks

ddg Posts: 261 Rating: (42)	For reading the tag name you can use c #define motor_start_cmd_1 "RSA_BC_SUMP_MAN_STA" SetTagChar("motor_start_cmd",motor_start_cmd_1); The tag "motor_start_cmd" is a text tag 8 bit char set which will contain the name of the tag (As here"RSA_BC_SUMP_MAN_STA")

Which Values - The runtime values which you can see such as in the I/O Field of Analog Values Which Property - you access the property values like size, height,width colour assigned to an object etc. through scripts.
