Now the next problem I face is that the program will not connect to my LOGO! module (PC > Logo). If I try to connect I get the following error message:

"An unexpected error occurred. Your data may be inconsistent and subsequent errors may occur.

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: <install-dir>/bin/librxtxSerial.so: wrong ELF class EFLCLASS32: possible cause: architecture word width mismatch."

For your information: I am on a 64 bits system.

Second error: if I go to Tools/options/interface and try to setup my comport for communications, I get the following error:

"Error while loading panel data

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: could not initialize class gnu.io.CommPortIdentifier"

I solved the latter issue throught the following steps:

(for Debian):

apt-get install librxtx-java

create a symlink in <install-directory>/bin/librxtxSerial.so pointing to /usr/lib/jni/librxtxSerial.so

Problem solved!

This is only needed for a 64 bit OS, not for 32 bit.

For different 64 bits linux-flavors the way to go will be similar.
