Greg_E Posts: 88 Rating: (2)	Hi Premisra, In case of connecting S7-200 to a PC, you have to make your own cable and put convertors because your freeport are RS485 in modbus protocol and PC port is 232 this is the reason for convertor, and now for cable you have to use: you can choose any multi-cable you would like to and a male 9D pin connector with pins 3(+) 5(shield) 8(-) welded. But, and here come the tricky question, what is the correct solution for this: - I have a PC, with RS485 port embedded, where pin 1(-), pin2 (+) and pin 5(gnd) - I have a S7-200 CPU222 with RS485 where pin 3(+), pin 5(gnd) and pin 8(-) There's something else to make this works? Because making the cable 1-8, 2-3 and 5-5 doesn't work. Any advise will be welcome, Best Regards
