Frequent failures of DBU's in 250KW Masterdrives(chases type).

bsrchandru Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Hi guys, We are using 250KW master drives in our copper smelting plant for EOT cranes (for shiftinghot metals).In this we are facing the problem of freqentfailure in theDBU's. For our application we are using two170KW DA1 type DBUs connected in parallel to the DC bus.Our plant is24X7 running plant, In that, Perticularly we are facing the problem of failure of DBU during the start up of drive after theplant shutdown.During that time drive trips on F006 and finally we were found the problem in any one of the DBUs.After replaced the DBU it will runs for nextshutdown/start up of the plant.Even small stoppage of the crane will leads the failure of the DBU, In the failure DBU, we were found that Choppers are healthy.Even though it was not showing the Ready indication.We dont know how to check the DBUs. Can any body tell, What may be the reason for such type of failures and how to check the DBUs.Please Regards brchandru.

Now we are removed all the panel ACs. Now crane girder ACs is only in line.Girder ambient temp is 30 to 36Degree C Can u suggest any heaters for the DBU. Taba Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Our crane has 4 Masterdrives and 8 nos of DBU in paralel. In first 2 years of operation we had a lot of problems with DBUs due to humidity Then we replaced busbar insulators in all DBU and then no one fault for 9 years
