If I use the example in the following link, I get an error. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/26495197 DataWord:= WORD_TO_INT(WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB(DB_Number).DW[Access4])+1; At the .DW* part, V11 says "Invalid ARRAY tag". The weird thing is that it works, if I make it in V5.5 and migrate it to V11. Did something change in V11 or am I doing something wrong?

Maybe your box is checked meaning to have more strict syntax checking? It's one of the settings, options->settings->PLC programming->SCL->Compile->Check array limits. Just a thought.

0_Einstein Grandmaster Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 12/23/2025 Posts: 16325 Rating: (2520)	If Access*4 is replaced with a value that is within the array range, does it compile and load and run? You might want to make a copy of the array to a simple array, indirectly index into it, make the change, the copy the array back. According to the SCL docs, you can copy an entire array with a single assignment (:=) command. I do not know if this is what the programmers want, but it does seem a strange coincidence that you're indirectly addressing twice in the same tag and that wasn't mentioned in the docs I read.

I had the same problem migrating code from Classic to Portal. Just change the square brackets [] to parens (). Why they had to change this syntax I do not know.
