Boti Posts: 14 Rating: (1)	Hi all, I have now several complaints from our customers, that the OP177B - both color and blue mode variant - type panel are hard to start. When the power is switched on, on the screen appears "Bootloader version...", progress bar running up to about 1/3rd after that the screen gets blank, and the firmware starts again. After some restarts (sometimes about 5, sometimes about 20 times) the OP starts up, the user program starts, and there is no more problem, untill the next time the system is switched off. Usually this problem was solved by an OS update (altough the OS version in the panel was already up to date), but lately it seems that the same problem appeared, even after the OS was updated. Any suggestions? Thanks Boti

Boti Posts: 14 Rating: (1)	Hello Wizard, No, I don't think I've used the option "Reset to factory settings", will try that. But it's very unpleasant visiting every client just to do an OS update... WinCC Flexible 2008 uses ProSave to preform OS update, am I right? I usually do the OS update directly from WinCC Flexible. Thanks Boti

Boti Posts: 14 Rating: (1)	Hello again, I've just received an OP177B (6AV6 642-0DC01-1AX1) from a customer who was complaining that the OP will not start. When I power up the OP, on the screen appears: Bootloader Version: 1.02 Date: 16.04.2010 After about 3 seconds the screen goes blank, and the firmware restarts. At this point I cannot connect to the OP with ProSave in any way, not even through Serial (via RS232/PPI Multi Master Cable). I have ProSave V7.4.6.0, installed along with WinCC Flexible 2008 SP2. Anything else I might try before sending the OP back to Siemens? Thanks Boti Meanwhile somehow I've managed to connect with ProSave and updated the OS using Reset to factory settings, but the same thing happens as before. The OP just would not start. I really don't see anything else, but send it back to Siemens...

As a result, the devices may repeatedly reboot during the start-up phase in sporadic cases. The eventually affected devices with the above-stated MLFBs were manufactured in the period from 06/03/2011 to 06/30/2011. The device datecode indicates whether the module was manufactured during this period (see photograph). Modules which were not manufactured during this period are not affected by the described behavior. Affected MLFBs: SIMATIC HMI TP277 6“ 6AV6643-0AA01-1AX0 SIMATIC HMI OP277 6“ 6AV6643-0BA01-1AX0 SIMATIC HMI TP177B mono DP 6AV6642-0BC01-1AX1 SIMATIC HMI TP177B color PN/DP 6AV6642-0BA01-1AX1 SIMATIC HMI OP177B mono DP 6AV6642-0DC01-1AX1 SIMATIC HMI OP177B color PN/DP 6AV6642-0DA01-1AX1 "B6" in the device code means "2011 June". Test: B5= ... (2011 May) A9= ... (2010 September) I am currently exchanging the panels manufactured in the stated period with the support of our local Siemens retailer. Boti

I'm having the exact same problem, but with the panel TP277. https://yadi.sk/i/RDXy8y9IuWEkd Hello izzzgoy, Yepp, you're going to have to send back your TP277 to your local Siemens retailer and get another one. Your device was manufactured in June 2011 (see "B6" in the device code, see my post from 5/15/2012). I don't know any way to solve this problem, other than the replacement. Sorry.
