Server Data in Server-Client Config WinCC V6.0 SP4

AMJ Posts: 87 Rating: (1)	Hello Experts, I need one solution. I am using WinCC V6.0 SP4 Server-Client project. In engineering PC we are compiling the theMultiproject with AS-OS tool and after compiling we copy the whole wincc project to HMI Server PC and then open it. after that We want to delet the server data and generate the new server data so it can generate with HMI server name.PCK file. But when I copy my wincc project from Engineering PC to HMI server PC I am not getting the option like "generate the server data" so I can not generate the new server data and hence in client message and trend are not comming. Please guide me how can I solve this problem? one more thing in Engineering PC in Step 7 where this multi project located I am getting the option in simatic manager like generate server data but i need this option in WinCC project in HMI server PC where I want to generate the server data. Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Hi Ankur I think you are missing the point of having an Engineering Station (ES)a little[:o] The whole point of an ES is that you do not have to make any changes on the actual server or client PC's. This includes generating server data packages [;)] You are supposed to generate the package on the ES, download the projects to the server and leave it at that. Don't worry about the names of the pacakages, they contain all the correct information for WinCC to operate correctly. I hope this clears up any confusion. AMJ Posts: 87 Rating: (1)	Dear Salma, Thanx for your reply. In my previous project I was using PCS 7 and WinCC with same server-client confg. I was realizing that if you are not generate the server data in server wincc project than in client you can not see the message or trends. There was one message comming out like "No connection to the data server!". anyway I will try your solution and will let you know. Thank you very much for you help. With best regards, Ankur

But what Salma tried to explain is that you should do that before updating the version of the server, you should do that while stillworking on the ES. After generating the server package on the ES you should update the server, and it should work. Best regards, Danielle

"No data connection to Data server". What should I do to rectify. I have gone through the FAQ but it shows you should generate the Package data on HMI server. but the problem is I am not getting the option of create new server data on my project. only update, configure and delete options are comming. Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Hi Ankur Firstly I refer you to this FAQwhich explains why the Server Data cannot be generated from WinCC. Secondly, maybe you should configure a Standard Server for your trends and messages. The procedure is documented in the manual under: · Start -> Simatic -> WinCC -> WinCC Information System and thennavigate to ·Configurations -> Multi-User Systems -> Client Configuration -> Configuring a Standard Server.
