0_Einstein Grandmaster Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/14/2026 Posts: 16369 Rating: (2522)	You can try modbus/tcp for the S7-1200. The specifications for modbus/tcp are open. We use MB/TCP here to send data to/from S7-1200 PLCs, but we use function call #23 (which is a read and write in one packet). Most users can get by with the MB/TCP support built into the S7-1200 PLCs and should integrate nicely with VB.NET. udp communications should be simple and fast as well. If someone has a framework for any of this that is open source, please post.

Here comes important info, that these 2 solutions are different, one use strictly defined interface, second is user defined and can be use for speecific user data Exchange.
